Day 1 Getting there is half the fun

Team Amsterdam began arriving at the Schiphol Airport via a whole bunch of separate flights bright and early starting with Ryan and Glen at 5:30 AM.
Karen our tour operator met each of the groups at the Delifrance counter at the airport and then waited till we had a group of around 8 so that we could share a shuttle to the hotel. The first group made it to the hotel at around 9 and was treated to complimentary breakfast by the Hotel V even though we had technically not checked in. As we were unable to check in till 2PM some of that first group took a walk through the streets of Amsterdam – looking for – who would of thought it – a pair of boots for Tesha. Aided admirable, with fashion advice from Tom and Ryan we were able to zero in and buy a pair that Tesha liked.
That done we had lunch at the café of Beurs van Berlage and then made it back to the hotel for our welcome happy hour. The hotel had prepared some lovely appetizers that we then had with some Heineken and a Belgian beer. Ryan walked the group though the plan for the next day and we then spent a little more time getting to know each other better.

Some of the group (who could somehow manage to keep themselves from falling off to sleep) even made it out to little bar for some more socialization before all of us hit the sack.
See a lot more pictures from our first day in Amsterdam

  1. Wow, This brings back memories! Hope all is well with the team and everyone enjoys all the wonderful things Amsterdam has to offer. This is great to see and read about - I ate at that same cafe! I'm going to live vicariously through the blog.

    Stay Well!
